Rates and Packages

Shadow Oak Plantation is an exclusive, traditional Southern-style wingshooting lodge with facilities to accommodate 8 - 14 people with five comfortable bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms in the main lodge and two bedrooms in the smaller private lodge “the Bunkhouse”.  Our season runs from October 1 through March 31. Please reserve your hunt early as our dates fill quickly. 

Quail Hunts

All-Inclusive Packages

Unlike most hunting lodges, our rates are all-inclusive. All hunts with lodging include:

• breakfast, lunch and dinner;

• an open bar (open from when hunters return from their afternoon hunts till 10:00 pm);

• an experienced guide & hunting rig;

• pointing, flushing and retrieving dogs;

• unlimited quail (no overkill fees);

• harvested birds cleaned and packed in a cooler;

• Wobble Trap warm up clays.

Non-shooting Guests

Full Day with lodging: $300

Breakfast: $25, Lunch: $35, Dinner: $50

8% Georgia Sales Tax is applicable to all items above. Gratuities are additional and are exempt from sales tax.

 Shadow Oak Plantation is also available for off-season events, retreats and conferences. Our Events Room has ample space for large groups for meetings and celebrations. Please inquire for availability and rates.

Meals

What’s a day of quail hunting in Georgia that doesn’t begin with a delicious Southern breakfast? Hot coffee, buttermilk biscuits, eggs, ham and cheese grits get you started and ready for your first Bobwhite covey flush.

Lunch might be home-made Georgia-style Brunswick stew and yummy sandwiches or bar-b-cue and of course, sweet tea. In the evening, our guests are served a full Southern home-cooked dinner. Fried chicken, bourbon glazed quail, smothered pork chops, grilled steak, sweet potato casserole, fried green tomatoes followed by pecan-peach cobbler or Key lime pie!

Georgia peaches and pecans are grown in the area so they are favorite, local ingredients. Meals at Shadow Oak, especially dinner, are more times to relax and enjoy true Southern hospitality.

After dinner and a long day out in the field, relax on the front porch or back porch, watch television or get lost in a book. There are lots of hunting and sporting life books and magazines scattered about the Lodge.

If you want to stretch out after dinner, we invite you to take a stroll on the gorgeous grounds surrounding the Lodge; you may encounter a Guinea Hen or Peacock. Range a little further and you may come eye to eye with an Ostrich or Emu. And yes that is a  Plains Zebra! They are all part of the owner Butch Houston’s collection of non-native animals, for viewing only. If there are any non-hunters in your group, they can have a wonderful time on a mini photo safari which can be easily arranged.
